Welcome to Bumo, owned and operated by Parc Ventures Inc. (“Bumo,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). At Bumo, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled securely. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you visit our website (www.bumo.com), applications and other offerings and services from Bumo (collectively, the “Bumo Platform”, or “Platform”, or “Services”). By accessing or using the Bumo Platform, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We, and our third-party service providers, which include ad networks, analytics companies, payments companies and more, may use cookies, web beacons and other tracking technologies to collect information from you when you visit our Platform and use our services. 

The types of information we collect may include:

  1. Personal Information:
    1. Contact Information: This may include your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
    2. Account Information: When you create an account with us, we may collect login credentials, such as your username and password.
    3. Payment Information: If you make payments for our services, we may collect payment card details or other financial information.
    4. Child(ren) Information: When you book Child Care services through Bumo, we may collect information about your child(ren), including their name, age, and special requirements, and other information including without limitation, immunization records and health information including but not limited to special diets, allergies, etc. Health information is treated the same as all other personal information.
    5. Background Information: We may collect information about background checks, certifications, and qualifications of Child Care providers who use our platform.
    6. Device/IP Data: This may include IP Address, Device, browser, and Operating System information
    7. Web Analytics: This may include browsing or search history, web page interactions, referring web page/source, non-identifiable request IDs, etc. 
    8. Social Network data: This may include email, username on social networks and information on user’s social media profile
    9. Demographic data: This may include zip code, address, etc. 
    10. Geolocation data: this may include IP address-based location information
  2. Usage Information: We collect information about how you interact with our website and services, including your browsing history, IP address, device information, and cookies (please refer to our Cookies Policy for more details).
  3. Location Information: We may collect location information if you enable location services on your device. This information helps us match you with nearby Child Care providers.
  4. Communications: We may collect information from your communications with us, including customer support inquiries, feedback, and survey responses.

    • To facilitate the booking and provision of on-demand Child Care services.
    • To communicate with you about your bookings, updates, and service-related matters.

    • To create and manage your Bumo account.
    • To authenticate and verify your identity.
    • To process payments and provide invoices.
  • Improving Our Services:
    • To analyze user preferences and behavior to enhance our website and services.
    • To personalize your experience on our platform.
  • Marketing and Communications:
    • To send you promotional materials, newsletters, and updates about our services, with your consent.
  • Safety and Security:
    • To ensure the safety and security of our users and providers by conducting background checks and verifying qualifications.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance:

    • To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.

5. Sharing Your Information

We may share your information with third parties in the following circumstances:

  1. Child Care Providers: We share your information with Child Care providers to facilitate bookings and ensure the safety of your children under their care.
  2. Service Providers: We may engage third-party service providers to assist us in providing our services, including payment processing, customer support, and analytics. These providers have access to your information solely for these purposes.
  3. Affiliates: We may share your information with any of our affiliates. 
  4. Business Partners: We may disclose certain business-related information to partners in our network. 
  5. Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information in response to legal requirements, such as subpoenas, court orders, or government requests.
  6. Business Transactions: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity.
  7. Aggregate/Anonymized Information: We may share aggregate/anonymized information about use of the Bumo platform and services to create reports on usage trends and better understand the health of the business.  
  8. Consent: We may share your information with your consent or at your direction.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  1. Account Information: You can review and update your account information at any time by logging into your Bumo account.
  2. Marketing Communications: You can opt out of receiving marketing communications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in our emails or contacting us directly.
  3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies: You can manage cookies and tracking technologies through your browser settings.
  4. Data Access and Deletion: You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, subject to applicable legal requirements. 
  5. Location Information: You can disable location services on your device if you do not wish to share your location with us.

7. Online Analytics and Advertising

  1. We may use 3rd party web analytics services to help us analyze how users use the Bumo platform and services. The information collected by the technology will be disclosed to or collected directly by these providers, who use the information to evaluate your use of our platform and services.  
  2. 3rd party services we use, may place cookies or other tracking technologies on your computer, mobile phone or other device to collect information about your use of the Bumo platform and services. We also allow other third parties, e.g. ad networks, to serve tailored marketing to you and to access their own cookies or other tracking technologies on your computer, mobile phone or other device you use to access the Bumo platform and services.

8. Cookies Policy

The Bumo Platforms and Services use cookies and similar technologies such as pixel tags, web beacons, clear GIFs and JavaScript (collectively, “Cookies”) to enable our servers to recognize your web browser, tell us how and when you visit and use our Services, analyze trends, learn about our user base and operate and improve our Services. Cookies are small pieces of data– usually text files – placed on your computer, tablet, phone or similar device when you use that device to access our Services. We may also supplement the information we collect from you with information received from third parties, including third parties that have placed their own Cookies on your device(s). Please note that because of our use of Cookies, the Services do not support “Do Not Track” requests sent from a browser at this time.

We use the following types of Cookies:

  1. Essential Cookies. Essential Cookies are required for providing you with features or services that you have requested. For example, certain Cookies enable you to log into secure areas of our Services. Disabling these Cookies may make certain features and services unavailable.

They do this by collecting information about the number of visitors to the Services, what pages visitors view on our Services and how long visitors are viewing pages on the Services. Performance/Analytical Cookies also help us measure the performance of our advertising campaigns in order to help us improve our campaigns and the Services’ content for those who engage with our advertising. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the Services is subject to the Google Analytics Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.   3. Retargeting/Advertising Cookies. Retargeting/Advertising Cookies collect data about your online activity and identify your interests so that we can provide advertising that we believe is relevant to you. 

You can decide whether or not to accept Cookies through your internet browser’s settings. Most browsers have an option for turning off the Cookie feature, which will prevent your browser from accepting new Cookies, as well as (depending on the sophistication of your browser software) allow you to decide on acceptance of each new Cookie in a variety of ways. You can also delete all Cookies that are already on your device. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit our website and some of the Services and functionalities may not work.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

10. Retention

We retain personal data about you for as long as you have an open account with us or as otherwise necessary to provide you with our Services. In some cases, we retain Personal Data for longer, if doing so is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes or collect fees owed, or is otherwise permitted by applicable law, rule or regulation. 

11. Children’s Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us at privacy@bumo.com, and we will take appropriate action.

12. California Resident Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the rights set forth in this section. Please see the “Exercising Your Rights” section below for instructions regarding how to exercise these rights. Please note that we may process Personal Data of our customers’ end users or employees in connection with our provision of certain services to our customers. If we are processing your Personal Data as a service provider, you should contact the entity that collected your Personal Data in the first instance to address your rights with respect to such data.

If there are any conflicts between this section and any other provision of this Privacy Policy and you are a California resident, the portion that is more protective of Personal Data shall control to the extent of such conflict.   1. Access: You have the right to request certain information about our collection and use of your Personal Data over the past 12 months. In response, we will provide you with the following information:
    1. The categories of Personal Data that we have collected about you.
    2. The categories of sources from which that Personal Data was collected.
    3. The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling your Personal Data.
    4. The categories of third parties with whom we have shared your Personal Data.
    5. The specific pieces of Personal Data that we have collected about you.

If we have disclosed your Personal Data to any third parties for a business purpose over the past 12 months, we will identify the categories of Personal Data shared with each category of third party recipient. If we have sold your Personal Data over the past 12 months, we will identify the categories of Personal Data sold to each category of third party recipient.

  1. Deletion: You have the right to request that we delete the Personal Data that we have collected about you. Under the CCPA, this right is subject to certain exceptions: for example, we may need to retain your Personal Data to provide you with the Services or complete a transaction or other action you have requested. If your deletion request is subject to one of these exceptions, we may deny your deletion request.
  2. Exercising Your Rights

To exercise the rights described above, you or your Authorized Agent (defined below) must send us a request that (1) provides sufficient information to allow us to verify that you are the person about whom we have collected Personal Data, and (2) describes your request in sufficient detail to allow us to understand, evaluate and respond to it. Each request that meets both of these criteria will be considered a “Valid Request.” We may not respond to requests that do not meet these criteria. We will only use Personal Data provided in a Valid Request to verify your identity and complete your request. You do not need an account to submit a Valid Request.

We will work to respond to your Valid Request within 45 days of receipt. We will not charge you a fee for making a Valid Request unless your Valid Request(s) is excessive, repetitive or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that your Valid Request warrants a fee, we will notify you of the fee and explain that decision before completing your request.

You may also authorize an agent (an “Authorized Agent”) to exercise your rights on your behalf. To do this, you must provide your Authorized Agent with written permission to exercise your rights on your behalf, and we may request a copy of this written permission from your Authorized Agent when they make a request on your behalf.

  1. Personal Data Sales Opt-Out and Opt-In

In this section, we use the term “sell” as it is defined in the CCPA. We sell your Personal Data, subject to your right to opt-out of these sales.

As described in the “Tracking Tools, Advertising and Opt-Out” section above, we have incorporated Cookies from certain third parties into our Services. These Cookies allow those third parties to receive information about your activity on our Services that is associated with your browser or device. Those third parties may use that data to serve you relevant ads on our Services or on other websites you visit. Under the CCPA, sharing your data through third party Cookies for online advertising may be considered a “sale” of information. You can opt out of these sales by following the instructions in this section.

Once you have submitted an opt-out request, we will not ask you to reauthorize the sale of your Personal Data for at least 12 months.

To our knowledge, we do not sell the Personal Data of minors under 16 years of age.

We Will Not Discriminate Against You for Exercising Your Rights Under the CCPA. 

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights under the CCPA. We will not deny you our goods or services, charge you different prices or rates, or provide you a lower quality of goods and services if you exercise your rights under the CCPA. However, we may offer different tiers of our Services as allowed by applicable data privacy laws (including the CCPA) with varying prices, rates or levels of quality of the goods or services you receive related to the value of Personal Data that we receive from you. 

13. Other State Law Privacy Rights

  1. California Resident Rights: Under California Civil Code Sections 1798.83-1798.84, California residents are entitled to contact us to prevent disclosure of Personal Data to third parties for such third parties’ direct marketing purposes; in order to submit such a request, please contact us at privacy@bumo.com.
  2. Nevada Resident Rights: If you are a resident of Nevada, you have the right to opt-out of the sale of certain Personal Data to third parties who intend to license or sell that Personal Data. You can exercise this right by contacting us at privacy@bumo.com with the subject line “Nevada Do Not Sell Request” and providing us with your name and the email address associated with your account.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting a prominent notice on our website or sending you an email notification.
